Latinas Acting Up:

Short Film La Luz

As a marketing consultant for La Luz, a short film by Latinas Acting Up, I played a key role in securing sponsorships and funding through the creation of a compelling pitch deck. I conducted extensive research and designed the entire deck, strategically highlighting the film’s strong Latine representation—both in front of and behind the camera—to appeal to potential sponsors.

The film is currently in post-production and will be released later this year (2025).

About Latinas Acting Up

Through workshops, screenings, and mentorship, LAU fosters collaboration and celebrates the diverse stories of Latinas. With a growing following of 7,500+ on Instagram and 280+ members, LAU is a vital resource for Latina talent, advocating for greater diversity and cultural representation in film and media.

Success

The pitch deck was instrumental in securing over $10,000 in sponsorships, including sponsorship and catering from Porto's Bakery and Cafe, an iconic Cuban restaurant chain in Southern California, which helped us close our production gap. It also played a key role in securing in-kind sponsorships for our camera package and G&E equipment rentals, valued at $6,000 from BECINE and $3,000 from Cinelease.

Through a targeted and strategic approach, I helped position La Luz as a project worth supporting, ensuring the film had the resources needed to bring its vision to life.
